چکیده
Abstract Background Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) improves survival in cirrhotic patients with intermediate-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Drug-eluting bead (Deb)-TACE is associated a reduction liver toxicity and drug-related adverse effects compared chemotherapy-TACE. This retrospective paired cohort study compares the outcomes of DEB-TACE HCC greater than less 5 centimeters. Methods Sixty-nine had Deb-TACE as primary treatment for over 3-year period from May 2019 -to 2022. Patients were into two unmatched groups according to tumour size. Group A; size > 5cm group B < 5cm. Each was then following single or repeated Deb-TACE. Tumour response evaluated using standardised modified Response Evaluation Criteria Solid Tumours (mRECIST) detect evidence regression. classified having either complete (CR), partial (PR), stable disease (SD),or progressive (PD). Also, any including hepatic decompensation recorded Results A,(34.48%) 10 session Post-treatment surveillance showed that 4 (44.44%) CR, PR 2 (22.22%), SD 1 patient (11.11%), (22.22%) PD, one still waiting his follow-up surveillance. On other hand,(65.52%)19 sessions, CR evident (10.5%), (5.2%), 3 (15.7%), PD 7 (36.84%) initial followed by (10.5%) finally became PD. B, 18 (45%) Deb-TACE, showing 7(58.3%), detected (16.67%), (8.33%) SD, (16.67%%) 6 their surveillance, no them. (55%) 22 sessions. patients(13.6%) (18.18%), (4.5%) (27.27%). However, (13.6%) CR,3 (9%) CR. Conclusions effective HCCs rate 66.67% who Single dose first it increased 79% deb-TACE; however, not statistically significantly different (P = 0.48). The <5 cm responses up 83% single-dose 59% DEB-TACE, this significant 0.25) . There difference complications between groups.

متن کاملComparison of conventional transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and chemoembolization with doxorubicin drug eluting beads (DEB) for unresectable hepatocelluar carcinoma (HCC).
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Chemoembolization with doxorubicin drug eluting beads (DEB) is a novel locoregional treatment modality for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Initial animal studies and clinical trials suggest that treatment with DEB may provide safer and more effective short-term outcomes than conventional chemoembolization. Current study explores long-term survival benefits...
متن کاملDEB TACE for Intermediate and advanced HCC – Initial Experience in a Brazilian Cancer Center
BACKGROUND According to Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer classification transarterial chemoembolization is indicated in patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma in the intermediate stage. Drug-eluting microspheres can absorb and release the chemotherapeutic agent slowly for 14 days after its intra-arterial administration. This type of transarterial chemoembolization approach appears to provide at le...
